SONAME, Philippines Visits the OPSL-PNU: XR Metaverse and BPA E-Green Experience
On June 25, 2026, a delegation of engineers and legal experts from the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SONAME)—the Philippines' national professional society—visited Pusan National University (PNU) on a benchmarking mission.
Hosted by the OPSL, the visit focused on leveraging electric propulsion to revolutionize the Philippine ferry and shipbuilding sectors.
The delegates engaged in a comprehensive program, starting with an orientation on PNU’s cutting-edge ESS electronic-powered ship XR-metaverse platform. They then toured the university's Towing Tank facility, before wrapping up their mission with a tour of the Busan Port Authority’s (BPA) E-Green electric ferry.
